LeapFest returns for its second year after an incredible debut. Last year, the festival sold out all 60 seats and received strong coverage across local news outlets, online publications, and social media. Filmmakers and audiences praised the energy, the screenings, and the community that came together to celebrate Arkansas storytelling.
We’re excited to bring LeapFest back even bigger, continuing to grow the reputation and momentum of an event built by filmmakers, for filmmakers.

Our goal remains the same: showcase your film on the best screen possible. Last year’s 60-seat room sold out quickly, so this year we’re upgrading to one of Malco’s largest auditoriums—more than double the capacity at 160 seats, a bigger screen, and better sound.

TIME TO GET WILD…
Join us after the festival for the official LeapFest After Party. This is a casual, come-and-go gathering and a great opportunity to connect with filmmakers, cast, crew, and fellow film fans in a relaxed setting.
The after party is free and open to all LeapFest attendees. No ticket or RSVP required — just show up, grab food or drinks if you’d like, and keep the conversations going as we close out the night together.
Whether you’re looking to network, celebrate your screening, or simply unwind after the showcase, it’s the perfect way to end LeapFest 2026.

Where is the screening?

How do I deliver my film?
We require all films to be submitted as DCPs (24fps).
If you don’t already have a DCP, you can pay to have one created.

How do I get a ticket?
Tickets can be purchased directly through our website or in person at the theater on the day of the event.
Do filmmakers receive a plus one?
No. Each accepted filmmaker receives one complimentary ticket to the block in which their film is featured.
Can I bring items to display?
Yes! We will have a display table where filmmakers can showcase props or materials from their films.
Will there be Q&As?
Yes. Each block includes a Q&A with the filmmakers. We highly encourage networking during intermission and at the after party.
Who can submit to LeapFest?
Submissions are open to Arkansas filmmakers only.
Your film does not need to be shot in Arkansas, but it must be produced, directed, or written by an Arkansas-based filmmaker.
Submit your film through FilmFreeway.
Is there reserved seating?
There is no reserved seating — all seats are first come, first served. The auditorium will be cleared after the first block.
If you have tickets for both blocks, you may leave your belongings in your seat during the room reset to hold your spot for Block #2.
